    Stephanie Smith

    BIOGRAPHY

A native of Charleston, SC, Stephanie grew up in West Ashely and graduated a proud ROCK from Saint Andrew's Parish High School in 1992.  She went on to attend Winthrop University making Rock Hill, SC her home for almost 20 years.  In the summer of 2013, Stephanie, her husband Ian and their two children moved to Saint Paul's Parish.

Before finding her place in Meggett, she was in customer service and sales for 20 plus year, most recently with a screen printing and embroidery company in Rock Hill, SC.  She began working for the Town of Meggett in October 2015.   As Town Administrator, Stephanie has gained a special appreciation for what it means to be a part of Meggett!

In addition to her daily tasks, she started the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Christmas Country Fair, and has planned many events with the help of dedicated volunteers!  Her two favorite annual events are the Christmas Tree Lighting and the Easter Egg Hunt.

Stephanie found a new passion in grant writing, helping to author several grants used to purchase passive greenspaces within Meggett, Roxbury Park Phase II, The Reserve and Meggett and the Harrell Family Park.   She participated in projects funded with  Charleston County Greentbelt Program Grants, SC Conservation Bank Grants, smaller grants for park signage and equipment, and a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant that help fund a new grinder system for Meggett's public charter school, Lowcountry Leadership Charter School.

If you ask Stephanie what the best part of the last 8 years working in Meggett have been, she will tell you with a smile, being a part of a great community, helping to preserve passive greenspace and planning big gatherings!

Stephanie has an open door policy, so be sure to stop by the Meggett Town Hall, Monday - Friday 8AM-3:30PM to ask a question or just to say a quick hello!
