Stephanie Smith
BIOGRAPHYStephanie Smith has been the Town Administrator since January 2016, after a 10-year career in Customer Service & Sales in screen printing and embroidery. Her husband, Ian Smith, and their two children, Thomas and Mache, moved from Rock Hill, SC to Hollywood, SC in June 2013. A native of Charleston County, Stephanie graduated from St. Andrew’s Parish High School in 1992 and went on to attend Winthrop University.
Stephanie has an open-door policy at the Town Hall, encouraging all residents to stop in or call with any questions, concerns, or just to visit and enjoy a cup of coffee.Vertical DividerCONTACT

Lynn Fleming
BIOGRAPHYLynn is new as the part-time Town Clerk, but not new to Meggett. Lynn has lived in Meggett on family property her entire adult life except for her college years. Along with her husband, Robert, they enjoy living on the Toogoodoo, gardening, and sharing the land with Brahman cows, donkeys, and several other pets. One of her many hobbies is feeding and watching all the beautiful song birds that visit. Lynn and Robert have two adult daughters, Abby and Laura (husband Jason).
Lynn is the happiest when she is helping others and is looking forward to serving the residents of Meggett and assisting the staff when needed.Vertical DividerCONTACT

Ali Ravenel
BIOGRAPHYAli Ravenel has been with the Town since February of 2018, following a six-year career in the banking industry. Ali was raised in our community and attended St. Paul’s Academy for most of her elementary and middle school education. She completed her high school education at Ashley Hall School in downtown Charleston and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2013. Ali and her husband, Chris, have a son, William.POSITION SUMMARY
The Zoning Administrator has overall responsibility to administer the Town of Meggett Zoning & Land Development Regulations Ordinance (ZLDR), as well as all other applicable Town ordinances as written, without authority to deviate from the respective ordinance. The position also serves as staff liaison to the Town's Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA).PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall administration and enforcement of the Zoning Code.
- Receives and processes applications for zoning permits, special use permits, site plan reviews, variances, administrative appeals, and land divisions.
- Performs periodic inspections to ensure permits and land use changes comply with the Zoning Ordinance.
- Assists residents with zoning and permit questions and
with general customer needs via telephone, email, and in person. - Coordinates the enforcement of all Town ordinances.

W. Andrew Gowder, Jr.
BIOGRAPHYW. Andrew Gowder, Jr. has been practicing law since 1986 and is a partner in a Charleston, South Carolina law firm. His practice is focused on local government, land use, environmental and real property law, and corporate formation and governance for both profit and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Gowder has written and lectured on legal topics relating to land use, urbanism, planning, sustainability and the environment. His publications include Tax Increment Financing (American Bar Association 2012), Greening Local Government (American Bar Association 2012), A Legal Guide to Urban and Sustainable Development (John Wiley and Sons, Inc., 2008), and At the Cutting Edge, Land Use Law from the Urban Lawyer (American Bar Association, 2009, 2010).
He is currently a member of The American Bar Association, State and Local Government Section where he is a past Chair of the Section and its delegate to the ABA House of Delegates, the South Carolina Bar, where he has served as a member of the House of Delegates for more than a decade, the Urban Land Institute, as a Full Member and Chair of the Sustainable Development Council, and The Urban Land Institute, South Carolina District Council, as past Chair and member of its Governance Committee. He serves as counsel to or as a board member to numerous local nonprofit organizations.
He earned his J.D., cum laude, in 1986 from Wake Forest University School of Law, and his B.A., summa cum laude, in 1983 from Wofford College, where he was Phi Beta Kappa.
He is admitted to the bars of the South Carolina Supreme Court, the United States District Court for South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit.Vertical Divider
