The Mayor

Harry V. “Buster” Herrington III was elected Mayor of the Town of Meggett on May 3, 2011 and took his official Oath of Office on May 23, 2011. Mayor Herrington previously served as Mayor Pro Tem on Town Council from May 2009 until May 2011. He is a lifelong resident of Meggett, graduating from St Paul’s Country Day School in 1987 and later attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Auburn University. He is president and co-founder of The Lowcountry Antique Tractor & Engine Association, a member of the Exchange Club of St Paul’s Parish, a board member of the South Carolina Farm Bureau, and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Mayor Herrington is married to Laurie (Steele) Herrington. They have a son, Van Herrington.
