Roxbury Park

Roxbury Park is owned and managed by the Town of Meggett, SC. The park is located on the east side of State Highway 174, about 5 miles south of US 17. Covering 157 acres of land, the park is bordered by Little Britton Road on the south, the Toogoodoo Creek on the north, a privately owned hayfield on the east, and Hwy 174 on the west. The property has 3,800 feet of frontage along the Toogoodoo Creek and contains both a saltwater pond and a freshwater pond totaling 38 acres.

What makes Roxbury Park such a special place is the diversity of it's ecosystem.  Visitors to the park can see and experience eight distinctively unique habitats that attract and support an amazing variety of wildlife. Please click here to view a list of over 1000 different species inhabiting the park.
  • The park is open year round, daily from 8:00AM until 6:00PM.
    • Limited parking is available Monday - Friday just inside the Highway 174 entrance.
    • Full parking is available Saturdays and Sundays.
  • There is a portable restroom located in the full parking area.
  • Fishing is allowed in the park's two freshwater ponds, however, it is catch & release only. Please make sure to have the appropriate licenses, as DNR does patrol the area.
  • Access to the Cottage and saltwater dock are allowed when the cottage and pavilion are not rented for private use.  A sign will be posted when rented.
  • Please do not feed the wildlife. Wild animals that lose their fear of humans can become dangerous.
  • Please do not leave any trash behind at the park.
  • RV's, campers, motorized boats and ATV of any kind are strictly prohibited.
  • Overnight stays at the park are not allowed, unless you are renting the Cottage.
  • No fires are allowed outside of the established firepit located at the cottage and should only be used by private parties renting the grounds.
  • Fireworks are strictly prohibited.
  • Horses are not allowed.
